Long before we got to Billings, we noticed that the fenders on our little beach house on wheels were starting to crack. Each day, the cracks got larger and we knew that eventually they would just fall right off! While we were in Wenatchee, Washington, a couple next to us had a Bullet a year or so newer than ours. Their fenders were fine. So Bill had a look underneath to see how they were mounted and theirs had supports that we didn't have. Since our "Bumper to Bumper Protection Plan" doesn't cover fenders....(my daughter says that's because we didn't have a fender to fender plan, LOL!) we had to order new ones and have them shipped to her house in Wheatland, WY. They arrived before we did and today was "replace the fenders" day! Bill came up with the idea of using a shelf support after a suggestion by our daughter.
He reinforced the screw holes with aluminum tape,
drilled holes for the new support
and the new fenders were in place.
They don't flap like wings now as we go along so should be fine from now on. Bill spoke briefly on Sunday with an update on the Thank-You Tour and we were greatly encouraged by the people there. Tomorrow, we're planning a special ride....will tell you all about it tomorrow! :)
